Inc.... Thank you Inc for helping to select the first reads for the year. The Theme so far appears to be use Contrarian Thinking to GO BIG or GO to Mars, which is appropriate considering the TOUGH Targets that our society needs to achieve if we are going to sustain life on a planet with Eleven Billion People.
My three BIG take aways so far:
From Peter Thiel(PayPal):
- Pick an important Truth that very few people believe in.
- Create something that is 10x better (FACTOR 10) if you want your business to be HUGELY successful like
- Take care of 7 essential elements: Technology, Timing, Monopoly Product, Team, Distribution, Durability and a Secret
From Elon Musk (SpacerX, Paypal, Tesla, Solar City):
- It helps when you come from a Family of Adventurers and Risk Takers
- SpaceX uses lean practices to develop space craft at 1/2 the cost
- Stay clear of sub-optimal hybrids, go for the electric car
