Yurt Building the start of a Prefab Green Journey

When I was a kid, we did not have a lot of books hanging around, but we did have one that captured my imagination. It was the story of how Genghis Khan, one of the most successful conquers built the biggest empire in the shortest period of time.  His people lived in a Gher.

The YURT is a modern day version of this home structure that can be easily disassembled and moved. We decided to build a yurt to live in while we constructed a new cabin at Candle Lake, Saskatchewan.

Based upon the success of the of how well this project went, we have used the same PREFAB construction IDEA to build two cabins and a Net 0 PREFAB GREEN  home. This slideshow shows the YURT build and introduces you to the Lean Lab an Online training laboratory for Lean and Green construction practice
